Nickelback is a rock band formed in Canada in 1995 by Chad Kroeger, Mike Kroeger, Ryan Peake and Brandon Kroeger. Drummer Brandon was later replaced by Daniel Adair. The name "Nickelback" reportedly comes from when Mike Kroeger worked at Starbucks and would give customers a nickel back for change. The 2001 album Silver Side Up broke them into the mainstream and huge commercial success continued.
